Somatic refers to body-centered practices that help you tune into physical sensations, bringing awareness to habitual movement patterns, tensions and discomfort in the body. With this class rather than just going through a sequence of poses, you will be guided to become more aware of your internal experience and become more attuned to subtle sensations, thoughts and emotions. This class aims to help you learn to release physical and emotional tension that may have been built up due to stress, trauma or repetitive habits.
This class is all about intentional movement and stillness, balancing the stillness of Yin Yoga and gentle movement from somatic practices, you will learn to create a nurturing space for deeper introspection and healing. Learn to tune into sensations and make space to process emotional blockages and stored tension and let your body guide you rather than striving for the perfect form.
Yin Yoga targets the muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and fascia, helping your body recover while improving flexibility and strength. Through prolonged, mindful stretches and soothing breathwork techniques (pranayama), you'll tap into your parasympathetic nervous system - where the body rests, replenishes and recovers.
